50 Year Anniversary of the Church and School

On 24^th September 2019, St Mary’s Catholic Church will celebrate its Golden Jubilee. In 1969, St Mary’s Catholic Church relocated from its former setting in Brierley Street, Smallthorne. Our school as we know it today was opened 12 months prior to the opening of the church.

We aim to mark this extremely special event with 12 months of celebrations leading up to the 24^th September 2019.

As part of the celebrations, our Parish would like to publish a book of the History of our Church and School. We would love to share as many memories with you as possible. If you have any photo’s, recollections or would be prepared to take part in an interview with pupils from our school, then please contact Mrs Rathbone (srathbone@stmarysnewman.co.uk).
